Controller and contact

Yvon Demol, sole trader (EI) and publisher of JazzBricks, is responsible for the processing described here. Address: 6 rue Pierre Brizon, 59175 Templemars, France. SIRET: 51445308300032. Questions: contact@jazzbricks.com.

Your practice stays on your device

Language, instrument, settings, personal chord charts, their titles and authors, their organisation and Guide Tone Line sessions are processed and stored locally to provide the functions you request. They are not automatically sent to a JazzBricks server. There is no JazzBricks account or automatic synchronisation between devices.

Sounds and fonts are bundled. This version includes no advertising, audience measurement or user tracking tools. The app does not request access to your microphone, camera, location, contacts or photos. It does not record audio.

Purchases and restoration with Google Play

Full access is a single non-consumable in-app purchase, with no subscription. Google Play manages your Google Account, payment and transaction history under its own policies. JazzBricks does not receive your card number or bank details.

The app communicates with Google Play to obtain the localised price, make or restore a purchase, verify access and acknowledge delivery. It processes the signed Google Play receipt locally, including the product, purchase token and purchase status. An encrypted receipt copy is stored in the app’s private storage using a device-bound key, so previously verified access can work offline. No JazzBricks server receives this receipt. A Google Play check can update or revoke access.

Purchasing and restoring require Google Play and an available connection. Restoring with the same Google Play account does not transfer your charts or settings. An Apple App Store purchase does not unlock the Android version, or vice versa.

Files you choose and voluntary sharing

Import reads only the files you choose. Supported chords, structure and musical metadata are processed locally; MusicXML melodies and lyrics are not retained. A remote file provider may download a file at your request.

Exporting or voluntarily providing feedback creates a local file and opens Android sharing. You choose the app and recipient. Feedback may include your text, the date, a technical version, the page and browser information. It is not sent automatically to JazzBricks. The temporary copy is normally deleted after sharing; an interruption may leave a cached copy. Files already shared remain with your chosen recipients under their own policies.

Google Play and diagnostics

Google may process installation, purchase, Play Store usage and technical incident information according to its services and your settings. Play Console may provide the publisher with distribution and performance statistics or feedback you voluntarily submit. JazzBricks includes no separate usage analytics or crash collection service.

We use diagnostics or feedback actually received to fix faults and maintain the app. Any copies retained by JazzBricks are deleted once the issue is resolved and the case is closed. Google’s own retention periods are governed by Google.

Email support

If you email contact@jazzbricks.com, we receive your address, any name you provide, the message, attachments and technical message information. We use these to handle your request: performance of the contract for support related to a purchase, or our legitimate interest in responding and fixing faults. Attachments are optional; include only useful information. Do not send passwords or bank details.

Email is hosted by Infomaniak in Switzerland. Messages are retained while the request is handled, then for one year after the last useful exchange in a closed case. Deletion is manual, including inbox and trash. Infomaniak advertises recoverable backups over 30 days, so technical copies may temporarily remain. Material needed for a legal obligation or dispute is kept separately for the justified period.

Retention and deletion on Android

Practice data stays on your device until you remove it. The tools let you remove charts and empty their trash. You can clear the app’s data in Android settings or uninstall it; this normally removes its local storage, including the cached receipt. The app disables Android backup of its data and excludes the receipt from system backup and transfer.

These actions do not delete exported files, recipients’ copies or purchase history managed by Google. After clearing data or reinstalling, you can restore a still-valid purchase using the same Google Play account. JazzBricks cannot remotely erase data from your device.

Recipients and international processing

Yvon Demol and authorised persons handle support requests. Infomaniak and its technical providers provide email services. Google processes platform operations under its own terms. You choose your sharing recipients. The courses and web beta do not automatically receive app data.

Email is hosted in Switzerland. Google and chosen recipients may process data in other countries under their own policies. You can request details of the safeguards applicable to JazzBricks service providers at contact@jazzbricks.com.

Your rights

For data held by JazzBricks, you may request access, correction, erasure or restriction and, where applicable, portability and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Email contact@jazzbricks.com. We normally respond within one month and explain any legally permitted extension. Proportionate identity verification is requested only if there is reasonable doubt. You may complain to the French data protection authority, CNIL.

Contact Google about the data it holds; we remain your contact for information provided to JazzBricks. Manage local copies and exports on your devices and with the relevant recipients. No decision producing legal effects is made automatically from a JazzBricks user profile.
